Luis A. Guzman is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering at Universidad de los Andes, in the Civil and Environmental Department in Bogotá, Colombia. He holds an M.Sc. from Universidad de los Andes and a Ph.D. cum laude in Civil Engineering Systems from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (2011). Luis’ research interests are extensive, encompassing policy evaluation, economic assessment of transport systems, transport and land-use interaction, and social, economic, and spatial analysis of inequalities related to urban transport. Presently, he is engaged as a researcher in national studies focusing on the development models and tools regarding livability, mobility, land-use changes, and their implications on urban planning, social equity, and well-being. Additionally, he has served as a consultant and advisor on various urban transport projects in Colombia, consulted for the World Bank, and advised the Urban Development Institute of Bogotá on issues about value capture instruments for financing transport infrastructure. He serves as an associate editor of npj Sustainable Mobility and Transport and sits on the editorial boards of Research in Transportation Business & Management Journal, Latin American Transport Studies Journal, and Journal of Public Transportation. He is also the author of several articles published in international journals that delve into the evaluation of transport policies, public transport, poverty, equity, and urban structure.
