Hannah E. Murdock is a PhD candidate and President’s Scholar in the Centre for Environmental Policy at Imperial College London, Seminar Leader in the Imperial Energy Futures Lab, and Research Partner at REN21. Over the past 15 years, she has published widely on energy and transport and has held various roles working within NGOs, international organisations, academia, and consulting – most recently in the capacity of co-lead author of the SLOCAT Transport & Climate Change Global Status Report.
Hannah’s passion is using data-driven research to support human and planetary health. She embraces interdisciplinarity both in subject matter and in methods: Her research lies at the intersection of sustainability, psychology, and public policy, with her thesis focusing on decarbonising transport while maximising co-benefits – analysing the role of policies, biases, and behaviour – using both computational/data science and traditional social science methods. She holds master’s degrees in public administration from the University of North Texas, and in international affairs (energy) from SciencesPo Paris, as well as a bachelor’s degree in psychology and political science.
