Mauricio Orozco Fontalvo is a transport researcher and lecturer currently completing his PhD in Lisbon, Portugal, where his work focuses on sustainable urban mobility, user behavior, and the governance of emerging mobility solutions such as Mobility as a Service (MaaS). He brings a multidisciplinary perspective to mobility challenges, drawing from academic research and hands-on experience in both policy and practice. Mauricio has worked across a range of urban contexts in the Global South and Global North, giving him a comparative understanding of how mobility innovations can be adapted to different social, institutional, and infrastructural realities. In Colombia, he founded and led a consultancy firm specialising in transport demand modeling, traffic studies, and mobility planning, supporting decision-making processes for public and private sector clients. His current research aims to inform policies that promote more inclusive, integrated, and responsive mobility systems, particularly in cities undergoing rapid transformation.
