Khamis Al-Shammakhi

H.E. Engineer Khamis Al-Shammakhi is the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology for Transport of Oman.

His academic background includes degrees in Petroleum Engineering from Sultan Qaboos University, Shell Advance Integrated Asset, Projects, and Economics Program, Certified Petroleum Development Oman Continuous Improvement/Lean Coach, Oman Vision 2040 Public/Private Governance Strategic Practitioner,  Shell/Petroleum Development Oman Leadership Program, as well as Middle East Leadership Academy Program(MELA).

He has 22 years of experience in the private & public sectors, among them is as Vice President of Programs Development Sector, Government of Sultanate of Oman. As Development Leader at Petroleum Development Oman, he managed a complex portfolio of assets operated by mult-functional teams, ensuring gas supply to domestic and export while developing new opportunities and long-term future development strategies. He drove and managed cluster development, overseeing multi-disciplinary international team delivering hydrocarbon maturation planning and execution, as Development Leader Brunei Shell Petroleum Sultanate of Brunei.

He is also chairman of the National Hydrographic Survey Committee, member of the National Emergency Management Committee, member of the Maritime Security Center Committee, and ,ember of the Administrative Accountability Center at the Ministry of Labor.
