Organiser: Government of the Netherlands, CALSTART (on behalf of the Global MOU), Government of the United Kingdom and Accelerating to Zero Coalition (on behalf of the ZEV Declaration).
This briefing will update the media on progress in the global transition to electromobility. Among the drivers are the Zero Emission Vehicles Declaration, focused on cars and vans and signed by over 225 countries, businesses, and organizations, and the Global Memorandum of Understanding on Zero-Emission Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicles, focused on trucks and buses and signed by 35 nations and over 130 other stakeholders. Progress made is falling short of reaching international climate goals. The briefing will set out what needs to be done to accelerate the transition and make it equitable, including the launch of a new initiative to advance infrastructure corridors globally. Finally, new signatories to the ZEV Declaration and the Global MOU will be announced.
