Ignasi Ragàs
Ignasi is an economist specialised in transport, logistics and economic development with 37 years of experience.
He worked in the Barcelona City Council (1990-2004) at the Mayor's Office and in the Secretariat for Economic Development. He was General Manager of CIMALSA (2004-2011), Catalonia’s government undertaking involved in the development and operations of logistics parks and freight transport infrastructure.
Since 2011, Ignasi works as an independent consultant and has participated in urban development, transport and economic development projects in Spain and in more than 30 countries. City Logistics is one of his key areas of expertise. He has been involved in the preparation of masterplans and policies for city logistics in Barcelona area since 2012 and has been the technical coordinator of Barcelona’s Urban Freight Strategy (2023).
He has been working for CAF – Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina in a variety of projects in city logistics and logistics infrastructure in more than 10 cities. Ignasi has coordinated the technical preparation of CAF’s Strategy for Sustainable and Safe City Logistics – LOGUS (2018-2019) and LOGUS 2nd phase (2021-2022). Author of various publications on transport and urban development.
