Koichi Fujisaki
FUJISAKI Koichi is a Distinguished Research Fellow & Director General for Research at Japan Tourism and Transport Research Institute (JTTRI) since October 2022.
Dr. Fujisaki has long been engaged in the field of transport, tourism, land planning and rural development as well as consumer policy as an official in the Japanese government since 1989, before retiring Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) in June 2022. He served as a vice-chair of Consumer Policy Committee (CCP) of OECD in around 2005 – 2007. He also served as the head of preparation office for the G7 Transport Ministers’ Meeting in Karuizawa, Nagano in 2016.
In-between, he was involved in various research programs where he worked in three different institutions: the Japan Transport and Tourism Research Institute (JTTRI, formerly ITPS) (a non-profit organization) in 2008-11 and 2020-2021, the Japan Research Institute (a private institution) in 2013-15 and the Policy Research Institute of MLIT in 2018-19 and 2021-2022.
