Renan Filho

Renan Filho was born in the State of Alagoas, in the northeast of Brazil, on October 8, 1979. A graduate in Economics from the University of Brasilia, he started his political career in 2004. He was the Mayor of Murici, Alagoas, twice, a federal congressman and, in 2014, was elected Governor of the State of Alagoas. His term was distinguished by the recovery of the state’s investment capacity, with progress in the areas of infrastructure, education, health and public security. In 2018, he was reelected governor of his state and, in 2022, he became a Senator of the Republic. He has been the Minister of Transport of President Lula’s administration since January 2023.
