Carbon-free and inclusive mobility for Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Summit23_Programme_Cafe

The next Paris Olympiad will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024, and the Paralympic Games from August 28 to September 8, 2024. Preparations for the games began many years ago. Numerous departments and services of the national administration as well as decentralized services are fully mobilized.

Paris 2024 has made environmental responsibility a key focus of its candidacy and now of its organization. This ambition guides every step of the project design. The environmental objectives on transport and mobility are particularly ambitious:

• 100% of residual emissions offset
• A carbon footprint halved compared to previous editions
• 80% of venues located within a 10 km radius of the Athletes' Village
• 100% of sites accessible by public transport or bicycle
• 95% of existing infrastructure (5 new structures only)
• Fight against waste
