“Transporte de Bajas Emisiones de Carbono para un Crecimiento Equitativo”
La Mesa Redonda tiene como objetivo destacar los logros y el potencial de la descarbonización del sector transporte en América Latina, dialogar sobre los retos y las posibles oportunidades para un transporte más limpio, e identificar las políticas y proyectos a la vanguardia en movilidad eficiente y equitativa con bajas emisiones de carbono en la región. El diálogo se enmarcará en los componentes de las políticas de descarbonización y transporte sostenible, propiciando el intercambio de buenas prácticas que podrían reproducirse y escalarse en América Latina. Asimismo, brindará el espacio para generar atención sobre innovaciones para una mayor eficiencia en el sector, apoyando el comercio y el crecimiento económico, y mitigando las emisiones contaminantes.
Se elaborará un comunicado de prensa basado en las áreas de convergencia en el diálogo, con el fin de destacar las prioridades en América Latina para desarrollar sistemas de transporte sostenibles que faciliten un crecimiento equitativo. Los principales resultados del diálogo también se presentarán durante la Sesión Ministerial Abierta de la Cumbre de la ITF de 2023.

The Roundtable Lunch aims to highlight the achievements and the potential for the decarbonisation of the transport sector in Latin America, discussing the challenges and possible opportunities for cleaner transport in vital economic sectors, and identifying the leading edge of efficient and equitable low-carbon mobility opportunities in the region. The discussions will be framed at broad components of decarbonisation and sustainable transport policies, prompting exchanges of good practices that might be replicated and expanded in Latin America. It will also draw attention to the promising solutions innovations can offer for greater efficiency in the sector, supporting trade and economic growth and mitigating emissions.
A press release will be produced based on the areas of convergence of the discussions to highlight the priorities in Latin America for developing sustainable transport systems that support equitable growth. The main outcome of the discussions will also be presented during the Open Ministerial Session of the 2023 ITF Summit.
