Kakao Mobility, the leading mobility platform in South Korea, is at the forefront of revolutionising the transportation landscape. By leveraging data from multiple services such as taxis, navigation, shared bikes, and delivery, the company provides valuable insights into societal behaviours and daily life. These insights fuel innovation in the mobility sector and guide the development of futuristic projects in areas such as autonomous driving and robotic delivery, UAM (Urban Air Mobility). Chief Economist Kunwoo Kim is part of this progress at Kakao Mobility's Digital Economy Research Institute. His work involves analysing vast amounts of mobility data to inform economic and policy considerations, and to forecast the trajectory of transportation progress. Kim also oversees the production of the annual "Kakaomobility Report", which publishes insights from mobility data. The 2021 edition of the "Kakaomobility Report" earned international recognition, winning the 2022 Red Dot Design Award in the Brand & Communication Design category. The report was celebrated for its innovative use of visuals to present complex mobility data, enhancing understanding for general readers.
