Martin Dulig
Martin Dulig was born in Plauen/Vogtland in 1974. He is married with six children.
In 1990, he began vocational training as a skilled construction worker, which he completed with his Abitur (German school-leaving examination). From 1992-1998, Martin Dulig worked as a youth education advisor at the SPD Saxony. He successfully completed his educational sciences course at the Dresden University of Technology in 2004. During his studies, he worked as a freelance coach in adult education.
Martin Dulig has been a member of the Saxon State Parliament since 2004, and was chairman of the SPD state parliament group from 2007 to 2014. Since 2014 Martin Dulig has been Minister in the Saxon State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport and Deputy Prime Minister. In 2019 he was reappointed to both offices.
He is also involved in various non-profit associations such as the Netzwerk für Demokratie und Courage e. V., and is a member of the ver.di trade union and the Workers’ Welfare Association (AWO). In his hometown of Moritzburg, Martin Dulig is active within the Protestant church community.
