Xiaohong Yang is Director General of the Public Sector Clients Department (Region 2) at Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), overseeing the Bank’s operations across East, Central and West Asia, Europe, Middle East and North Africa, Latin America. With 30+ years at MDBs, she previously served as ADB’s Chief Thematic Officer for Sustainable Development and Climate Change, Deputy Director General for Central and West Asia, and Country Director for Pakistan, as well as Sector Director Transport for Central West Asia department for ADB. She led flagship climate initiatives and managed strategies, investments, and reforms across sectors. Before ADB, she worked at the World Bank.
