Michele Gesualdi is Senior Manager and High-Speed Rail Advisor at the International Union of Railways (UIC) in Paris, where he coordinates international cooperation and strategic initiatives across the high-speed, intercity and night train sectors. His work focuses on the governance, financing and performance of large-scale transport systems, supporting dialogue between public authorities, infrastructure managers and global railway operators.
At UIC, he leads international research and policy programmes examining infrastructure investment models, regulatory frameworks and the socio-economic impacts of transport systems. He also directs multilateral forums bringing together leading rail stakeholders to address strategic challenges related to network development, market design and long-term system resilience.
Michele holds master’s degrees in Transport Systems Engineering and Hydraulic Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II and contributes regularly to international publications and policy discussions on transport strategy and infrastructure investment.
