Dr. Maria Boile is Professor of Port and Intermodal Terminal Policy and Management at the University of Piraeus and Director of the Quantitative Analysis in Shipping Laboratory. She also serves as Coordinator of the European Waterborne Technology Platform. She is member of the Standing Committee on Port Infrastructure and Operations, and Marine Liaison of the Executive Subcommittee on International Cooperation of the Transportation Research Board of the US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. She has previously served as Research Director at the Hellenic Institute of Transport of the National Center for Research and Technology in Greece and continues to lead its shipping and ports unit. She is affiliated with Rutgers University’s Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation. With more than 30 years of international academic, research, and policy experience in Europe and the US, she has led over 100 major projects, published extensively, and received several distinctions for her contribution to the transport sector.
