H.E. Dr. Rumaih Al-Rumaih is the Vice Minister of Transport & Logistic Services since July 2022. He has more than 30 years of experience in the public and private sectors between executive and operational management. Dr. Al-Rumaih earned a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Colorado and an MBA from the University of Leicester.
Dr. Al-Rumaih began his career in King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in the field of scientific and academic research and was simultaneously a part-time consultant for the Ministry of Defense. Afterward, he worked in the private sector in executive positions and was, in 2002, the Deputy CEO of AlKhaleej Training & Education. In 2008, he was appointed as Deputy CEO of Operation at Saudi Railway Company (SAR), and then became the CEO of SAR in 2010. He was nominated in 2015 as the President of the Saudi Railways Organization (SRO). After that, In 2016, he was appointed as the President of Transport General Authority (TGA) and acting President of the Saudi Railways Organization until end of 2021. Dr. Al-Rumaih continued to act as the president of TGA until 2026.
Al-Rumaih is chairman of several boards and committees, including Saudi Railway Polytechnic, and Saudi Logistics Academy.
Currently, he is a board member of TGA, Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), King Fahd Causeway Authority (KFCA),, The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Road General Authority (RGA), National Transport Safety Center (NTSC), Future Work Co., The Industrial Council, University of Jeddah, and National Competitiveness Center (NCC). Moreover, Dr. Al-Rumaih has been elected as Chair of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Division of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) until 2028.
He served as a member of the board in Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), and “Tabadul” and several supervisory and executive committees.
Al-Rumaih has participated and actively contributed into several local and international conference dedicated to transport and logistics services sector.
