CEO
Sophie Punte is a network leader bringing industry, government and other stakeholders together to address common sustainability challenges. She is CEO of a new mission-driven organization called Life-Links, co-founded in 2024 with Kuehne Climate Center, to build resilient supply chains with a focus on freight and logistics. As founder of Smart Freight Centre with a mission to decarbonize the global freight sector, she played a lead role in the development of the GLEC Framework as the global methodology for emissions accounting and reporting across the multimodal logistics supply chain. She currently holds supervisory board positions with Smart Freight Centre, and with Milence, the truck charging infrastructure company, and is a member of DHL’s Sustainability Advisory Council. Previously, Sophie led We Mean Business Coalition’s global policy engagement strategy, was board member of ALICE (Alliance for Logistics Innovation and Collaboration in Europe), headed Clean Air Asia to reduce urban air pollution from transport and other sources, and worked with the United Nations, New Zealand’s Ministry for the Environment, engineering firm WSP and audit/advisory firm KPMG, in both developed and developing countries. Sophie has a master’s degree in biology and environmental management from The Netherlands.
