Brooke Segerberg is the Rural Transport and Resilience Planning Lead at Fika. Her work addresses how rural transport infrastructure shapes access to services, economic opportunity, and long-term resilience in communities facing geographic isolation and climate stress. She focuses on strengthening multimodal rural mobility systems and advancing participatory planning approaches that center local priorities and lived experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. Her professional experience includes serving as a research consultant and Rwanda Country Director for Fika (formerly Bridges to Prosperity), Senior Biodiversity Researcher for World Wildlife Fund Cambodia, and Development Researcher and Associate Producer for a National Geographic natural history film series on America's National Parks. This interdisciplinary background informs her approach to infrastructure planning, which is grounded in field-based implementation and attentive to how institutions, funding structures, and design choices influence mobility equity and resilience in rural communities.
