Nanyan Zhou is a transport engineer and development professional specializing in transport infrastructure, regional connectivity, and sustainable mobility. She currently serves as an Investment Officer – Transport Specialist at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), where she supports sovereign transport operations across Asia. Prior to joining AIIB, she spent 8 years at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where she joined through the Young Professionals Program and worked on the preparation and implementation of transport projects and technical assistance programs across the region. Her professional experience spans roads, railways, logistics, e-mobility, and digital transport systems, with a focus on project preparation, implementation support, and sustainable transport development. Earlier in her career, she worked at the World Bank Group in Beijing, supporting railway investment operations and high-speed rail research in China. She holds an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a B.S. in Transportation Engineering from Tongji University.
