This session will highlight forward-looking design strategies that combine physical and digital solutions to transportation infrastructure vulnerabilities, using digitalisation, modernisation, and smart technologies (e.g., Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, digital twins) to anticipate and absorb shocks. It will explore how physical and digital solutions are being applied across modes, including ports, rail corridors, transit, and airports. It will also highlight the interdependence of transport with other sectors, and the design implications of building resilience across sectors.
